Trains

Yeah so for some crazy reason I thought public transport was great. People always seem to be complaining about over-crowding on morning trains but somehow I was lucky my first couple of times. But, now all of a sudden our number of carriages has halved. I believe the word sardines sums it up nicely. Good thing its only a short trip. I wonder why though, is there some fickle god of trains that suddenly decides that it is a good idea to roll the dice for the number of carriages, or is there a good reason?

Free time and Work

It's strange, you tell people that you have all this free time and they think it is such a great thing. But what I have come to realise is that there is such a thing as too much free time, motivation is sapped if you have no purpose to your days for too long. It's good to finally have something to do, no more marking time. Free time is now actually enjoyable.

Drifting

So at the moment the days seem to blend together and time just keeps slipping away. Is this because at the moment I can't see a real purpose. Am I just marking time till I begin work?

But then, given this, does working then mask a lack of purpose? Is the whole point of working (apart from the obvious economic benefit) a way of giving ourselves a purpose in our life? Is everyone that works missing out on finding a real purpose to life. To go to another level, is there any purpose that we should actually have in our lives?

I obviously have way too much time on my hands. But if you have thoughts post a comment.

Fed Square and Music

Was just down at Fed Square seeing some acts in the Umbria Jazz Festival, for free. Having free concerts to go to is so cool, just saw Funk Off who were amazingly energetic and also Dr Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir. They were interesting, I haven't heard much gospel music before nor really seen much live. But it was all good. For any Melbournites that might read this blog there is free gigs down at Fed Square all this week so check it out.
